Topic: Do You See Anything Odd?

OK. Quick- take a look at the picture below and tell me what you notice is odd...

If you guessed the messy floor with toys all over it, you'd be wrong. Emmett purposely goes around and dumps his toys out and he likes it that way.

If you guessed that Chris is getting a baby bottle jammed in his mouth by Emmett (who is clearly enjoying it) you'd be right!

Emmett dug though the closet and pulled out his baby bottles, and has recently taken an interest in them. He came over to dad while he was laying on the floor watching tv, grabbed him by the hair, pulled his face back, and popped the bottle in his mouth.

Do you think this is an early indicator that Emmett won't push mom and dad into a home in their old age, but rather he'd be happy to take care of us?

Topic: Geocaching in Buder Park
Date: 2008-07-24 14:56:59
Message: One day this week while the weather was cooler and not raining, Grandma, Grandpa and Kimberley went with Emmett and his dad to go Geocaching.

Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online.

For the past few months we've gotten together and walked through parks, conservation areas and wooded areas looking for geocache containers.

On this occasion, we were out at Buder Park in Fenton MO. Most people know there's a North and South Buder park split by Valley Park Rd. However, there's also an "upper" Buder park on the south side of Highway 44.

While 4 of us had our heads down looking on the ground for another container, Emmett was walking next to us in the grass. All of a sudden we hear Emmett yell: "Slides! Slides!" as he was pointing to the slides he had spotted at the far end of the park.

I looked at him and confirmed: "Yup those are slides" and he took off running towards them. Emmett sure does love the slides.

Mom felt like making muffins for breakfast yesterday morning and while she was working Emmett brought over his chair to 'watch'. He also wanted to 'help', so after he dropped the measuring cup into the mixing bowl I let him mix the blueberries (berries) in flour. When I turned to put the berries back in the freezer and he got flour on his cheek--I couldn't resist taking a picture and he couldn't resist being a ham!

Today, when mom when for her mid-morning snack Emmett followed right along and got his own peach out after mommy. Doesn't he make them look good? It must have been great, he was a juicy, stick mess when he was finished!

Confession: It's been a little while since I've done any maintenance on Emmett's website.

Its still visited quite a bit by our friends and families, so I thought I'd make it more user friendly.

On the blog pages you'll notice a new item directly below each topic.

Here you can see comments others have left about each specific topic. This allows you to keep each blog topic's comments grouped together, as opposed to having them all lumped together in the general guest book as they were before.

So next time you read a blog topic, you'll see who else has commented on that topic, have an option to read those specific comments, or leave your own!
