This past weekend was moving day; or moving weekend I should say.
With two identical Ford Freestar vans, we made several trips back and forth from our apartment to our new home. (We can't say thanks enough to both of our parents (Emmett's Grandparent's) for their time, effort and willingness to help with the transition).
By late Sunday afternoon, nearly everything had made it's way over to our new house.
With freshly painted walls, new hardwood floors, all new kitchen appliances installed and several thousand pounds of gear boxed and moved, it was time to sit back and relax (Read:fall asleep from exhaustion).
I don't have any pictures handy of moving day at the time I'm writing this blog- mostly because I don't know which box my camera is in. But fear not...I will find it and post a bunch of pictures and more stories on the blog soon. |

This past weekend we worked on refinishing the hardwood floors over at Emmett's new house.
When lunch time came around, we pulled out a blanket, and had a picnic out on the lawn.

This past weekend was the annual Ameren Safety Fair where Emmett's dad works. We went down to visit for all the food one could eat, plus hours of attractions.

One of the exhibits was a sand pit with "call before you dig" flags, where kids got to dig in a sand box and look for buried gas lines.

Many of the exhibits were giving away safety items. One of the exhibits was giving away kids safety glasses. Emmett got to wear glasses and look just like his dad.

And of course, what fair would be complete without a static ball?

Topic: Emmett's New House |
Date: 2008-10-02 16:53:33 |
Message: For the past couple of weeks our normal scheduled routine at home has been different.
Each night after dinner, we have been asking Emmett if he wants to go over to "Emmett's house" to play.
In the beginning he would respond with "Emmett's house?"
Now he replies "I'm ready to go!"
Emmett is about to have a new home. We're leaving our apartment behind and are moving into our new house.

The past couple of weeks Emmett has been helping to paint, drywall, re-wire, and clip the bushes around the house. Pictured above is Emmett working the stud finder. |
