| Message: This Memorial Day weekend Emmett and his dad went to the Beeson Family Reunion Campout down at Meremac State Park in Sullivan MO.  We slept in tents, ate lots of food and spent a lot of time around the campfire. (Mom would tell you we still smell like camp smoke even after several showers.) While we were there, Emmett got to walk some of the dogs the other families brought. One of his favorites was to walk "Max". (I don't have any pictures of him walking him--but he was cute!)  We took some time to walk around the park and visit the Fisher Cave. While we didn't go in, we did take a hike through the park, and found another cave we could go into! We also played some games like the Egg-'n-Spoon Relay game...Emmett only dropped the egg once! And as a prize, he got to eat a Peanut Butter Cup treat!  While we were packing up to leave, Emmett was fast asleep, and missed saying goodbye to all his new friends. So when he woke up, he took a picture and wanted to send it to them! |

| Message: We've got a couple of planter boxes in the yard growing veggetables this summer...and someone, or something has been eating our strawberries. So to find out who's been eating them, we've placed a garden cam, inside the garden, to find out who's been moving about. Below are the pictures we took after only (1) weekend.     |

| Message: Emmett and I haven't had a chance to post to his blog in nearly 2 weeks. That's because our house was not immune to whatever bug and germs Emmett brought home. Emmett was sick an entire weekend, and part of the following week, and then dad was sick the following weekend. In the times when we weren't sick, we were setting up our tent, campfire and lantern in the back yard to prep Emmett for a full weekend camping trip as part of this year's Beeson Family Reunion Campout! This year the camp out is at Meramec State Park over Memorial Day weekend. Emmett absolutely loved camping in the back yard (the neighbor kids Christopher and Blake said "Emmett Rocks" since he likes sleeping outside) and that he couldn't wait to go again next weekend. Expect more pictures/stories from the campout after our trip! |

| Topic: Dirt Cups |

| Message: When we came home this weekend from running errands, there was a surprise Easter basket waiting for Emmett from Heather! In his basket were garden tools, a new bucket for his sand box, chocolate candies, ant farm (for catching ants!) and gummy worms. Oh how Emmett loves gummy worms! We had enough materials in the fridge to make "Dirt Cups" and use the gummy worms as topping.  Emmett enjoyed eating the worms out of the cups, but any worms that had cookie crumbs on them, he'd ask that we clean them off for him. I suppose the cookie crumbs looked too much like real dirt, and the dozens of times we've asked him not to eat dirt, he feared the dirt cups had real dirt in them.  |
