| Message: This summer Emmett's mom and dad took him to Colorado for a week long vacation. The entire week leading up to our trip Emmett walked around the house singing about Colorado, going to Colorado and wanting his neighbor friends to go with him to Colorado! We're downloading pictures from our camera, and will be updating the blog with more specific stories, but if you're interested in getting a glimpse into the overall picture show, take a look here. We went to Fort Collins, Denver, Westminster, Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, and Canon City in one week covering places like: Rocky Mountain National Park, Pikes Peak, Pike's Cog Train, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge Bridge and Train, Manitou Cliff Dwellings and much more! |

| Topic: Emmett's Wish List |

| Message: This summer everyone has had their own wish list. Mom and dad wanted things done around the house like patio and basement finished. Daddy just finished the patio last weekend, now I have a new item on my wish list--patio furniture--which is proving to be just as hard to find as living room furniture. The drywall is all up in the basement, not it's time to start picking out paint. Not wanting to miss out on the action, Emmett created his own wish list.  Well, Emmett's list is almost finished! Emmett's baby sister (or brother, although he's not as receptive to that idea) is set to arrive on January 26, 2010. When we told Emmett there was a baby in mommy's tummy growing last night, he looked at us quizzically and wanted to know why it was there. We told him he used to be in there and got the response/question, "I grew inside mommy's tummy?" We're glad he stopped there and wanted to know, "where is the fishy game?" Now he's angling for not one but TWO dogs--I'm not sure I can handle all that messiness at the same time. |

| Topic: 8 TONS of Gravel |

| Message: Chris has been working very hard to create a patio outside the former GIANT HOLE in the basement wall (it was only an open access to the house for about 36 hours one weekend). Now that he finally finished the retaining wall to keep the mountain of dirt from flowing back in through the door like the old leaky picture window we got 8.5 tons of gravel delivered today. Emmett was excited when the giant dump truck arrived in the driveway to dump it's load. He stood in the garage and watched as the pile was created. I asked if he wanted to play in it, but he said it was too hot outside.  Later in the afternoon he asked if he could go out and play. He was out the door before I could grab my glass of water, and by the time I made it out he had gone to the sandbox, gotten a dump truck and was climbing to the top of the pile. When he saw me he decided he needed his sunglasses, but didn't want them to hide his eyes in the picture (he will take my glasses off saying "I can't see your eyes mommy.")  After playing on the pile and scooping rocks with his truck he found the best way to get down was to scoot down on his bottom. Needless to say there was white powdery dust covering him from head to toe! |

| Topic: Emmett Gets A Swing Set |

| Message: Last week Chris Clute called over to Emmett's house and said she had a swing set she wanted to move from her house, to Emmett's house! We helped get the swing set onto a trailer, and moved it over to Emmett's yard, next to his sandbox.  It didn't take very long, and the swings, monkey bar and slide was installed and ready to use!  |
