| Topic: Ding Dong The Tree Is Gone |

| Message: This week the weather is in the mid 70s, and perfect to get out and do some yard work. On the list of things to do is to take down the old cedar tree that's dying in the front yard. Got the ladder out, gloves, ear plugs, eye goggles and the chainsaw. A few hours later and we had the tree all down and cut up.  Don't mind the smoke billowing from the what appears to be the back/top of the house. That's just dad and Emmett burning some of the greenery of the cedar limbs. When the tree was all down, we took time to count the rings in the stump. We counted 60 rings, which means the old cedar was about 60 years old. When the tree was almost all the way down, we put the saw down, and let Emmett give the stump a great big push. With a little help, he was able to push over the last of the stump. He thought that was pretty neat. |

| Message: It's been a while since we've posted a new topic on Emmett's blog. That's because we've been pretty busy! We've finished putting joint compound on the basement walls, and have a good coat of primer on them. A few more finishing touches, and we'll be ready to go pick out paint colors. (Emmett wants a blue basement). We've also finished planting the rest of the grass seed around the house, applied fertilizer, and straw to keep the rain from washing away the seed. Today I was finishing putting down the last bit of straw. I was holding chunks of straw in my arms, tearing it apart, and letting it fall, when I saw this image (below) sticking out of the top of the piece of straw I was holding.  Thankfully it was not alive. Must have been picked up by the farm equipment that bundled the straw! |

| Topic: Rabbit Trap |

| Message: Remember the Garden Cam from a few weeks ago? Thomas and dad built a rabbit trap a few weeks ago and set it outside the garden. After several days of no activity, dad came home from work today to discover the trap had been sprung! Inside, sat a very small rabbit!    |
