| Message: "This week has been super busy! With Amy at summer workshops for school, myself at work, and Emmett not wanting to sleep by himself at night anymore, in addition to trying to decide if he wants to let his second tooth come through or not, it's been a busy week! This week we've started putting Emmett to bed at a set time, and not allowing him to fall asleep and stay in our bed. At first he really didn't like the idea of sleeping by himself, but as the week went on, his fussiness went down, and he accepted the idea of sleeping by himself - - and all night long again too! As for his second tooth coming in, it's anyone's guess. Amy says she can see a spot softening for his second tooth, but when I try to look, Emmett clamps his gums shut and won't let me even peek. I do know, however, that it's time for another hair cut for the boy, and he can't escape that!" |

| Message: "This weekend we went camping at Babler State Park. We took Emmett with us and he got to play in the swimming pool at the park. He liked to get in the pool and splash with his hands, until the water splashed back at him and got him in the face. He didn't like that so much. Later that evening we made foil packs (Emmett's favorite) and we let him have some carrots and potatoes from them. Emmett also got to have some marshmellows from the bag we were using to make smores. " |

| Topic: 2nd Tooth/Emmett's Routine |

| Message: "This afternoon Amy and I suspected that Emmett is trying to cut his second tooth. He has a small temperature, has been playing with his gums/existing-tooth with his hands, and would not settle down for bed tonight. It was after several hours of trying to get him to fall asleep (we could tell he was clearly tired by the way he was putting his head down and wanting to be held) that we finally realized that he hadn't gotten a bath. It's been several weeks since Emmett has gone to bed without a bath, and he just wasn't going to stand to skip a bath tonight! After a quick rinse with warm water, he snuggled in and went right to sleep. Maybe we should try for a bath right after dinner from now on? -haha" |
