Message: All the medical journals and doctors now-a-days tell parents not to give their child peanut butter before the age of one. New studies have shown that giving a child under the age of one any peanut butter at all can increase the likelihood they'll develop an allergy to peanuts.
Since Emmett's first birthday is only a week away (and on that day he'll be presented with a large peanut butter and jelly sandwich) we decided it was OK to give him puppy chow and see if he even likes peanut butter.
He seemed to enjoy the chow, but found the crunchiness of the chex mix to be a little disturbing (as he spit it back out once he sucked the peanut butter and powdered sugar out).
