A few weeks ago we decided to frame in our basement so we could run electric and hang drywall.
After several trips to the Home Depot, we had enough 2x4s to get the framing job done. See that blog entry here.
It was then we realized we couldn't get the drywall down the stairwell leading into the basement, and the picture window in the basement didn't open wide enough to pass drywall through it.
Enter next project: replacing picture window with sliding glass patio door.
A concrete saw, hammer drill, bobcat and many wheelbarrows full of dirt later, we excavated the yard and foundation to expose where the new door would go. Oh did I mention sledge hammer too?
After a very long (3) day weekend, the door was finally in place and secured.
Next step: acquire gravel to lay patio foundation outside the door and settle on a hot-tub color. Just kidding. Or am I?
